Our advocacy secures transformative changes to the ways that local leaders are supported to take ambitious climate action that improves the lives of local communities.

UK100 works with its members on warm homes, local energy, communicating climate change, and reforming local authority funding.

By campaigning for ambitious action, we build cross-party political consensus and commitment to action. We're advocating for the changes required to meet the UK's climate goals while boosting local and regional growth. Working closely with elected representatives, local authority officers, national government officials, policy experts, businesses and grassroots campaigners we want to unlock the potential of local leaders to accelerate Net Zero.

Warm homes

Britain's draughty homes account for almost a fifth of the country's greenhouse gas emissions. At the same time, the gas price crisis is driving up heating costs, trapping over three million poorly insulated households in fuel poverty.

Local energy

The energy system in Britain is almost a century old. It is in desperate need of reform. Local leaders should be at the forefront of building a new future-proof system that is affordable and resilient.

Engaging communities

The established consensus on climate action is being stress-tested. But local-led transparent and inclusive engagement with communities can rebuild it.
