Introducing: Energy Saving Trust
UK100
What products or services does your company offer that can support local authorities to reach their climate targets?

For many local authorities, Energy Saving Trust's energy experts and digital data solutions are already their first choice.

But if you’re not already one of them, then we can help you:

  • Accurately target and distribute funding, including your Warm Homes: Local Grant
  • Successfully develop a Local Area Energy Plan
  • Effectively deliver a tailored retrofit programme
  • Easily challenge myths about net zero, retrofit, low carbon technology and much, much more.

Our data, digital products and consultancy services are specially designed with you in mind. They can help you to:

  • Scope the scale of your net-zero challenge
  • Set net-zero targets and action plans
  • Reduce fuel poverty
  • Lower carbon emissions
  • Give trusted and impartial energy-saving advice to residents
  • Provide independent fleet consultancy
  • Manage retrofit grants and installation, right through to after-care

In 2023/24 we reached 14 million people and helped over 161,000 of them directly through our consumer energy advice services. We report on our impact each year, tracking progress and carbon savings in homes, workplaces and communities across the UK, Europe and beyond.

What sort of local authorities do you think your product or service could help?

We help local authorities of all shapes and sizes. We know that even neighbouring councils can be distinctly different when it comes to budgets, communities, and homes.

That’s why we take time to listen to your challenges. We make sure we understand your unique needs, and work with you to find solutions that fit your ambitions — wherever you are on your climate journey

Can you give us an example of a local authority you have worked with? What challenge were they facing, what was your intervention and what was the outcome?

We’ve worked with a vast range of local authorities on a diverse range of projects, including:

By using our Homewise tool, the council offers free, personalised retrofit advice, making the retrofit service faster and more accessible. This has reduced operational costs, increased efficiency, and provided valuable data for targeted marketing.

  • Wakefield Council, which worked with us to produce their domestic energy retrofit pipeline study, using data from our Home Analytics tool

We used Home Analytics to develop a high-quality and comprehensive three-stage piece of research. The housing energy stock data and analysis provided informed the development and delivery of their retrofit schemes, policies and strategies for years to come.

This end-to-end retrofit advice service has given direct support to over 2,000 households. It means residents in the North East can access free impartial energy advice and book home visits with an energy expert to explore tailored retrofit plans that meet their needs and budget.

What is the cost of your support to local authorities?

We recognise that value for money and return on investment matter.

We offer free consultations to discuss your needs and find solutions to match your options.

Our digital tools like Homewise start at £5,000 with additional services priced based on your requirements..

We invest in our digital product and services to make sure you get access to the latest technology and data to save you time, as well as money.

Who can local authorities contact to hear more about you?
